Background;

I have two Amazon accounts - a UK one that I set up years ago in the UK and a German one which was set up after moving to Germany a few years ago.
Both have separate email addresses and separate bank accounts linked to them (one UK account and one German account)
I also have two Amazon FireTV sticks - one registered to my UK account and the other to my German account.

But, when I'm logged in to my UK one I can't watch (for e.g) Star Trek: Picard (content not available) OK, fair enough, that could be a regional block but when I swith to my German registered FireTV stick to try and watch Star Trek: Picard, I get the same message saying content not available. It was also released to watch in Germany yesterday.

Now, here's the thing; I can log into my German Prime account on a laptop and watch Star Trek: Picard. (I can even log into my UK account with a VPN connected to a UK server and watch it on a laptop) and then cast my Chrome browser to a Google Chromecast and watch it on the larger TV screen.

I just can't for the life of me figure out why I can't watch things on my German FireTV stick even though I'm logged in to my German account using a German router on a German network in Germany yet I can on a laptop?

Are Amazon associating my German and UK accounts thereby giving me a regional geoblock or is something else, (and who know what that could be!), going on?

Where was each firestick purchased?  Could they be regional, a bit like dvds, and both be 'uk' versions hence the block regardless of account?

You might be onto something there, I was wondering if there's a region block like Bluray & DVD'S used to have.

All the Firesticks were bought in Germany.

I do have an older UK bought one somewhere but that's not been used in a couple of years.

I wonder if I closed my UK Prime account that would sort it?

I don't really need it now it's a PITA to order anything from the UK. In between I've been checking and comparing the 'My Stuff' such as purchases and rentals and it's the same content on both accounts which is bizarre lol

Well this is getting stupid now. Installed the Prime app on my German mobile, signed into my German Prime account, tried to watch Picard and it's telling me it's not available. Signed into my Prime account on my UK phone using a VPN UK server and I can watch it 🤔🤣

I think I need to be having words with Amazon lol

Oh interesting. The German Prime account is showing me the series info in English rather than German.
