Hi forum newbie here My monte has a starting issue   The initial cold start is no problem  but if I drive a short distance and stop  the restart is  It will crank for several seconds before firing up  The only other odd thing is after start up the revs rise to 1000rpm for a short time before returning to normal  This happens even when hot   There are no lights on the dash and no codes stored   Thanks in advance for any info 

One of the most common faults like tis is that the rubber air intake pipes are not sealing correctly, mostly happens after a service where the filter has been changed, the car thinks it's going to stall so instructs the ecu to increase the revs to stop a stall but then it corrects it's self when it doesn't happen, check around all the rubber hoses on the filter and turbo connections and make sure there is no cracked pipes might even be a small air valve tube cracked or broken causing this problem
