the car is tricky to get in first gear on occasions, also at low revs excessive vibration and noise (cannot pinpoint exact location of noise) and hardly any travel on clutch pedal when depressed. skoda saying possible clutch wear and flywheel replacement required , possible cost around £1800-2000, seems a bit pricey is this about right

I notice you are near me in Hull. I strongly recommend the local clutch/gearbox specialist Wallis Engineering for diagnosis & fixing, they will be way cheaper than the Skoda dealers and they really know their stuff. I had the gearbox rebuilt on Mrs BJ's Panda a few years ago and it's still going strong.

 

You also have a VAG specialist nearby A&A Motors.

 good shout on A&A motors , i have used them before, the prices at dm keith are well expensive, i will check wallis as well

I know it's not completely the same but wife's 2015 1.4tsi Leon needed a new flywheel along with the clutch, that was £1.5k at a VW Indy
