Moisture in backup camera

Featured Replies

Has anyone had issue with moisture getting into backup camera.

As shown in picture somehow water got into my backup camera and now I have blurry image... it got so bad camera is useless at night.

Should I report this to dealer? Or try to fix it somehow myself...

I'm little fed up with this vehicle.

If I report this to the dealer, it will be fourth time that something needs to be replaced under warranty (faulty steering wheel, rubber stoppers for tailgate and ski hatch cover).

Maybe it will go away the same way as the condensation in the headlights go away?

Not being smart but is that broken? To me the lens doesn't look centred or is it the angle of the photo?

It is the angle of the photo. Moisture got into outer and inner lens, not sure if that will go away because it is like that for the past few weeks.

So I managed to get the camera replaced under warranty.

After replacement this is what the camera picture looks like now. All warped and missing the lower red line.

Dealer didn't calibrate the camera, and they only replaced the inner lens. Picture is still not clear.

I didn't even leave the dealer lot and called them to check the "work" they had done.

Guy who is in charge of vehicle service told me it should be like that and that is because of an update LoL. But he said he will check with Skoda.

Now two weeks later no info from them, I even called them a few times and they told me they will get back to me, but nothing. I also told them what they did wrong, and it was like I was talking to a wall.

I have scanned the car with OBD eleven and there are fault codes for Rear view camera.

No clue what to do next. I hoped I could calibrate the camera myself but found out it's not as simple as I thought.
