P1264 Injector Error

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I hope someone may be able to help, I have a number of issues with my 1z vrs and have used VCDS to identify some of them, but am at a loss as where to go now..

Glow plug light started to flash and car went into limp mode.

Codes

004708/P1264 Injector Cylinder 2 (and similarly for all other cylinders)

000802 Engine speed sensor (G28)

Replaced fuel filter (was pretty clogged)

Reset the codes and took it out, about 10 minutes in I had a repeat problem with the same errors but only cylinder 2.

Reset the codes again and this time after 10 minutes the engine just stopped. I was running a full log at the time and all injector status' were either 0 or occasionally 2 on group 18. All deviations on group 13 were well within range (+/- 0.3) and this was the case for the whole journey, even after the engine stopped and the glow light flashed.

The temperature shown on the dash was -4°C when it was actually about 15°C outside, not sure if that's related. Also the fuel gauge occasionally drops to zero at the same time.

Car wouldn't re-start for some time after stopping (it would crank but not fire) but eventually (after 15mins or so) it did.

Am I right in thinking the injectors are probably OK given their status and deviation values were fine through the drive when it all went wrong?

What should I do next? Could this all be caused by the speed sensor (G28)?

Is it worth replacing the injector loom (or at least checking it with a multimeter)?

Car is a 58 plate with 165k miles. Had the injectors replaced under the original recall back in 2009.

Cheers for any guidance you can provide.

Additionally the G28 error for the speed sensor was only an intermittent failure and classed as a priority 5.

Hi,

How old is the battery?, mine was playing up some time ago, got it on VDCS and speed sensor intermittent comes up, got a new one, not cheap main dealer part, changed battery and hey presto no more problems.

Cos it runs on CAN BUS, it need a constant 12v supply and if it don't get it, it throw a hissy fit.
