Featured Replies

After resorting my Skoda Estelle Rapid 130.... I need members help on a Mechanical Fuel Pump or a work around with an alternative.... Can you ask if anyone has one for sale 'complete' or if you can advise on a supplier .... Had the car working bypassing the fuel pump .... Pipe from carb attach to electric fuel pump and then other pipe in petrol can .

The fuel pump is bone dry and ain't dragging petrol from tank 😬😳

Whilst I don't have one sadly, the pumps are designed to be 0fully rebuildable. You have the diaphragm and valves underneath. It's held together with screws.

However have you replaced the pipe connection from pump to tank? These are known to fail if original and when they do the pump just socks air through the hole.

I have rebuild my own pump so if you need a hand don't hesitate to message me.

Thank you for the reply... sorry for that late reply 😬... I did find excellent parts sourced including the ultra rare three pin fuel pump... Please feel free to share the post link below...

I used to find the standard mechanical fuel pump notoriously unreliable - if the diaphram splts it pumps fuel into the engine, diluting the oil until you risk bearing damage.

I always used to fit a blanking plate where the pump goes and then fit a small electric fuel pump instead. Power can be taken from the lead that connects to the solenoid in the carb (if you still have the original Jikov).

Hope that helps.
