What kind of mpg do you get from a VRS?

Featured Replies

If you drive sensibly what kind of mpg do you get from a VRS?

Do a search - there's loads of posts on this - I get 65+ on a 200 mile journey with cruise on and driving between 55 and 65mph......

Short Journeys (dependent on traffic lights) 45-48 mpg

Longer Journeys (mixture of round town and A-roads) 48-54 mpg

Long motorway cruise 60-65 Mpg

Who would buy a vRS to drive "sensible"?

I usually get 55mpg on my commute - 40mph/30mph/bit of 60. As long as there's no traffic. 80mph motorway returns high 40s. My long term average at the moment for the last couple of thou' is 47.6.

(been a vRS owner for 8 hours now)Collected mine today did 175 miles crawled round the M25 still managed 52 MPG so am pretty happy with that. On the way home had my new wheels fitted !!! Hows that for quick of the mark modding !!!

Over 12 months of ownership I got a constant 55mpg from mine over all.....

yup, about right. Had mine for nearly 3 years. Best recorded was over 60mpg from central scotland to portsmouth and back in a weekend, at an average speed of 60mph, 4 up with luggage. Regularly see 50+ on the commute into work - 15 miles across country roads.

40mpgs seems to be the norm regardless of how I drive

upto 1500miles on the motor from new so that might be the reason why.

My average sits around 47/49mpg. Mix of fast A/B road, steady motorway and town driving.

Short Journeys (dependent on traffic lights) 45-48 mpg

Longer Journeys (mixture of round town and A-roads) 48-54 mpg

Long motorway cruise 60-65 Mpg

That's pretty much what I see.

Drove 42 miles, home-work this morning, 5:20 start, nobody else on the road, don't think I came to a dead stop at any point. By 6:15 I was having my pre-start of shift coffee.............

Result 86.5 mpg !
