Climate control Sync, work around.

Featured Replies

I have a 2021 Octavia in Australia that has had the problem with the passenger (left) side controlling SYNC on subsequent ignition cycles after the mode is selected since new.

My dealer is not helpful.

Would anyone be willing to post the location of the dealers that have been able to fix this problem?

Where in Australia are you located. I finally got a dealer in NSW sydney to fix mine.

Thanks for replying @molesy94! Was that the Sydney City dealer by chance or one of the others?

I am in Melbourne VIC. I'm in the process of working through this fault with the closest dealer now that I know what the cause of the fault is and the likely fix (thanks to this forum thread).

Frustratingly, the service department treats people with pure apathy. The service advisors don't even want to talk, they just want customers to give them a registration number so they can book a service.

I am hopeful that one of the other helpful dealers is somewhere in Melbourne, otherwise there may be a road trip to Sydney in my near future 😅

The Sydney city one was rude and un helpful. I found the one in pennant hills at least willing to listen and entertain the idea. They fixed it for me. Let me try and send you what i sent them and it allowed them to help.

Thanks @molesy94. It's much appreciated.

I finally paid the access fee for erWIn and took the time to read all the TPIs applicable for my VIN. I'm glad I did, because there's now a TPI that covers the software update to 0531 on the climatronic module from versions 0341 and 0440 on 2021 cars.

The TPI number is 2072423/3 and it's dated 22-Nov-2024.

It still doesn't list the exact problem described in this thread in the customer statement section, but it does describe another problem that I have experienced - rear heated seats spontaneously turn on without any interaction. A copy of the TPI is attached.

Now that I can provide a TPI number for this problem to the dealer, I am more hopeful that they will do it for me.

Can confirm that the dealer did apply the update to 0531 on the climatronic module after I made a service booking specifically asking for it.

It did take two phone calls, a bit of a song and dance and providing them with a copy of the TPI, but then it was done with no further questions asked.

Version 0531 has fixed the problem with the SYNC setting appearing on the wrong side for a RHD car.
