DSG - which gearbox and oil change

Featured Replies

Hi. I am new to this forum. I have a 2019 1.6L/86kw TDI CR coming up to 4 years and 36000 miles. I do not really want to contact the local main dealer and wonder if anyone can tell me what type of DSG gearbox is in the car and if it needs an oil change at 40000 miles?

If it is a 1.6 TDI with a DQ200 7 speed twin dry clutch DSG then there is no service schedule, guidelines or recommendations for servicing.

No Oil changes required at 40,000 or 80,000 mile intervals as with a wet clutch DSG.

I have a skoda karoq 2019 1.6 diesel with dsg 7speed . And main dealer said it needs oil change, how do I find out if its Dq200 and whether it needs oil change or not

Thanks

Best thing to do is ask that dealer what gearbox you have. Also ask them what the oil change intervals are, how much it'll cost and then report back here BEFORE giving them the go ahead.  By the way, what main dealer told you this?

Will call them on Monday about gearbox model

Dealer is marhsall skoda, quoted around 240£

Get the person on the phone or the service desk to speak to the Master Tech.

There is no servicing / oil changes with a 7 Speed Twin Dry Clutch DSG.

There never has been a schedule, guidelines or recommendations to change the oil.

(Only on the 2009-2012 that were part of Service Campaign '34F7' where the Synthetic Oil was changed to Mineral and that was started in 2014).

*If it was a 7 Speed Wet Clutch DSG because it was not a Front Wheel Drive only 1.6TDI then that would be a DQ381 DSG and would not be due an oil change @ 40,000 miles, that would be at 80,000 miles.   But your car is not AWD is it?  If it was the Haldex was due a service at 3 years / 30,000 miles.*
