I was at work yesterday and they were going to chuck a projector in the skip:eek: It's a 1996 3M 8020, and it's The size of a small suitcase . It's fully functional and plays the footie at 48" at perfect quality, no sweat:D . The Problem I have is I want to connect it to my main pc, which is about 7 Meters away. Can I get a hold of a 7m VGA cable or would it loose quality along the way?

Get a decent shielded VGA cable and you wouldnt know the difference. These http://linitx.com/product_info.php?cPath=25_118&products_id=808 and http://linitx.com/product_info.php?cPath=25_118&products_id=761 are pretty good, except they are too short for your usage...

We use huge vga cables at work to project onto the massive screen in the council chamber. Pic quality is excelent but the cables were hugely expensive. Get a good make, not the ones they sell in pcworld as they are rubbish and noise can be seen in the picture.

I work in AV. Can't see there being any problems using 5-10m VGA. Just make sure its a good make cable.
