Octy 2 Dual Zone Air Con option...

Featured Replies

Hello peeps...

Looking like I will be getting a vRS2 estate (anyone wanna buy an 03 vRS hatch? (sorry I think my Freedom just expired...:o ))

Can't make up my mind on the jumbo/dual-zone/elec pack..

If dual zone is front-back then I might be keen. If it's side-side then it's a bit less useful. I like the box practicality but the interior dimensions seem a bit small and I don't know how much it getting in the way of the handbrake will pee me off

TIA :)

It's left and right separate settings , but you do get an extra vent in the back behind the arm rest which can be opened and closed as needed

Dual zone climate control is nice but the 2 zone control is pointless tbh. I still wouldnt be without it though because its the only version of climate control available in the octy II. The lower spec systems are just semi-automatic and a nuisance.

Jumbo box no good for much but the arm rest on the lid is handy and if you buy a car with jumbo box built after week 22 you get an aux jack inside which lets you hook up your mp3 player to the head unit.

Thanks guys.

Jumbo box is the only way to get vents for the kids, then, and as such I'll live with the handbrake bit.

The jumbo box is very useful to store CDs, key fobs and chill tins of Blue Bolt during these hot days as the air conditioning can pass through the box. I usually get annoyed by arm rests getting in the way of the hand brake but have to admit that the Octavia set up is very well laid out and not intrusive. You can extend the arm rest forward during motorway journeys and push it back for town traffic when handbrake use is frequent.

I did not know this - I'll have to get back to my dealer and check it out...

My wife's got the dual zone in her A4 and it's crap. It's far too noisy and the fan never settles at a constant speed. Might be better in the Octy II, but I'd avoid it personally.

It's lovely and quiet in my octy , and the fan only runs fast when initailly cooling the car.

After that it settles down and rarely changes more than one notch on the display

Same here. The climate control switches and displays etc look ace on the Audi A4 but my experience of it is that it's crap. They must use different parts and controller on the Skoda.
