space saver wheel

Hi all just bought a space saver wheel for Karoq trying to get the boot mat out 

seems to be held in place by three plugs .. underneath the back seat Do you just prise these out with a screwdriver 

or do they unscrew ..I don't want to cause any damage to plugs or fixtures be grateful for any help ... Thank you Gary

Hi all thanks for your replies all sorted the three plugs just unscrew after they have been loosened with a pair of long nosed pliers ...... Gary

Are you talking about the boot mat or the polystyrene box that holds the compressor and gunk?  If it's the latter then yes, they just pop up. You can use wide blade screwdriver or Y-shaped door trim removal tool.

 

The carpet it'self isn't fixed - not on our car anyway.

Thank you yes it was just the mat that covers the space where the spare wheel should be 

Bought the space saver wheel with the polystyrene box .. As you have said used a pair of long nosed pliers

Which fitted the three holes in the plugs. Once untightened unscrewed by hand. The polystyrene box uses the 

Studs to secure the box and stops it from moving so didn't want to damage the threads ......... Gary
