How to improve VRS handling

Featured Replies

I am currently looking into how to mod the VRS when I get it. At the moment I'm thinking of getting:

SEAT PD160 Air duct

Green Panel Filter

Milltek Exhaust backbox

Ferodo DS2500 Pads

SEAT Sport upper front strut brace

However my wife doesn't want to get the car chipped. she also doesn't want me to get a Dragon Digital tuning box for it like I was planning. She thinks it's like when I overclocked the RAM on her computer. Eventually the RAM failed and we needed to buy some more.

This leaves me wondering how to improve the handling of the car without making the car feel jarring. I don't want this car to feel like the M3 I was in a while ago.... Was almost sick. I will have about £300 left.

The Milltek back box isn't going to do a great deal - you need to replace the turbo downpipe and cat to see power benefits. Might sound different, though.

The best handling mod is the Jabba rear anti roll bar. Transforms the handling, and all but eliminates roll. Well worth it (about £225 fitted, I think).

Your wife doesn't want you to get your car chipped because your RAM failed?

I see your point (Although I doubt your RAM failed because it was overclocked. I have overclocked every pc I have owned in that last 15 years and never popped the RAM) and there is always a risk when you take something designed and built to do one thing and push it to do something else but I like many others on the forum will probably agree that there are tolerances and the performance of the PD130 can be pushed quite a bit without serious risk.

Grow a set and get an AMD One click. Then she doesn't have to know and you can use when you want :orb_devil

Handeling wise I can recommend the Jabba ARB as being a top class mod, don't bother with just the back box to get the best effect as mentioned you will need to look at the whole system starting with the downpipe/Cat.

You will also want to look at the 312mm brake upgrade. I cannot recommend this mod enough.

I have to warn you though, Mods are like Pringles.

Once you Pop, you can't stop....
