VRS alarm sensitivity??????

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me if there is a sensitivity setting on the standard alarm for the vrs?

I ask this as my car had now been hit/reversed into 3 times, outside my own house!!!!!! and not one of the f*ckers who hit even left a note! i thought my alarm would have gone off as each time the impact was enough to crack my bumpers!

if there is a sensitivity setting anyone know how to adjust it?

any help would be much appreciated

Tippo,

I think the alarm will only trigger if one of the doors/boot/bonnet are opened or the cabin is entered (although not sure on that in practice!)....

get yourself a proximty alarm from clifford mate - top system they are  mind you having said that, these are more sensitive to side doors/windows than rear of the car.

It depends how you set up the "perimeter" I think. Very good at scaring the hell out of people up who walk too close to your car though

thanks for your replies,

Does the standard fit alarm come with ultrasonic sensors......if not the alarm will only go off if, as Chris says...the doors are opened.

:) Tested my factory fitted alarm on the Fabia and it does have ultrasonic sensors, if you wind down the back windows and set the alarm, after about one minute if you wave your arm around inside it should trigger the siren ! Read in the handbook that if you press the remote set keyfob twice (quickly) that it turns OFF the ultrasonics so you wont have inside/glass break cover
