Guys,

Don't forget to check the recall for you cars https://recallactions.skoda-auto.com/

Mine is affected and I know lot of others affected by this. My dealership is still waiting instructions from central.

Regards,

Thanks for the thought, but a recall in one market is not always a recall in another even when both markets use the recalled component(s).

People should not have to check for RECALLS.

Registered Keepers are supposed to be contacted by the Manufacturers Representatives to Alert them the vehicle has been RECALLED for checks or actions.

Skoda / VW Group are pretty poor on RECALL ACTIONS, SERVICE CAMPAIGNS or WORKSHOP ACTIONS and you have to maybe read on line, in forums etc or Check.

SAFETY CRITICAL RECALLS are for them to make people aware of even if you never visit a Main Dealership or the vehicle does not.

The Airbag recalls started back about 2002 in some world regions for some manufacturers (Honda) and VW Group are eventually getting around to giving some thought to where they might act.

As it is they would be out of business if they actually did every safety recall on every vehicle they had sold that have Recalls outstanding, airbags or many other things.

For the 2001 Fabia recall they said 17 affected vehicles.

As to the latest, best check your cars VIN, or for this one called in 2019, 393 vehicles.

it maybe 4 months or so since I visited this forum (it’s a quit forum), so today is the first I knew about this recall check. I agree with toot that it’s pretty poor on Skoda that notices are not sent to registered owners via Swansea. 13 months ago I sold 2 Toyotas for a Fabia and a CitiGo. Toyota re really on the ball when it came to recall notifications.

This recall notice says if the airbag activated metal pieces could fly around the cabin area causing serious injury or death. A very poor customer service from a Skoda and I am very disappointed. We like a Skoda cars but this has seriously affected my view of them. It may be a move back to Toyota for us. We had Toyotas for 7 years and always felt cared for.
