Diagnose P0335

Featured Replies

Hi all

My car: Skoda Octavia 2005 mk2 1.6 mpi

About 3 weeks ago I had 2 warning lights come up on my dashboard - Control System for exhaust + Traction control system.

Done a quick diagnostic and had 2 error codes - P0335 (Crankshaft position sensor) and 01314 (Engine control unit - Pending fault present).

Bare in mind car starts and drives ok, no symptoms of any faults.

Took the car to the garage, where they said it's definitely Crankshaft position sensor. Replaced it, but both warning lights remained on.

Upon second examination the mechanic said that there's a wiring issue between the sensor and fuse box. Fixed it, but the warning light are still on.

The car still drives and starts ok, but I don't know whether it's worth going under a deeper repair attempts.

Timing belt was changed 30k miles ago (3,5 years ago).

Could anyone please share their thoughts on this issue?

Thanks
