Compass and navigation

Featured Replies

Hi all, new here and trying to learn a lot.

We've just bought a 2013 Skoda Superb TDI estate, and very very pleased with it, however our Columbus Sat Nav  now thinks we are in Germany , and the maps also dont know where we are and the Maxidot display says we are going south when we are definately going north ( Manchester to Scotland on the M6), neither myself or my partner are very technical minded, can anyone give us tips for resetting, bearing in mind when it comes to tech we are as thick as two short planks, it would be nice to get soreted as we are going on holiday to the middle of nowhere soon, and compass and maps may be handy.

Thanks in advance

Could be down to faulty GPS aerial.  Costly for a proper fix (part of shark's fin on roof), you can plug a cheap eBay aerial directly into the Columbus and mount under dash.  Quick way is to check how many satellites you are locked to.  Will sort out some more detail when I'm back at base and in my car, might be tomorrow

Probably dead antenna. OE sharkfin is around €90 and easy to fit.
