Fabia Windows switch 6pin Vs 9pin connector

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I am new driver in this country and recently bought my friends fabia 2006.

The power windows were not working intermittently since few days, got it checked with local garage and they replaced the motor (pretty expensive than I thought initially) but in just few hours I see that Windows switch has some issue now. I decided to change the switch myself which looks fairly easy. So ordered the switch from Amazon matching based on part number (1J3959857A) and number of connector pin (6 in my car). But I got 9 pin connector switch and so adding the following query.

Is it really a problem if I use 9 pin  power window switch instead of 6 pin switch? I am finding it difficult to find affordable 6 pin switch now and not sure if I really get it from sellers.

Regards,

Abhijeet

Try it but I think it will be OK.

The aftermarket units have probably just rationalised the variants (just front electric windows or all four) into a single common circuit-board with different numbers of physical switch controls above it.

Thanks Breezy_Pete, just tried it and it is working fine. How that it will not create any issues.

If it works it will not cause any problems.

Do you have the old window motor module that the garage removed?

Did they fit a new one, or a second-hand one?

Sorry i do not have the old window motor, they did not give me back and a new motor was installed as per them.

(Did not have great experience with them as the guy was not polite rather rude + did not fix the problem fully + super expensive)
