Glow plugs

Featured Replies

Evening all,

Car went into limp mode today with the glow plug symbol flashing on the dash. I’m assuming they need changing so does anyone have the oem parts number or a link to purchase them please.

Please don't forget that assumption is the fother of many muck ups .

Glow plug light covers a lot more than glow plugs & a glow plug fault AFAIK does not induce limp mode .

Does the engine start OK from cold ?

No mention of the engine in your profile so, 1.6 or 2.0 ?

If it's the  1.6 it could be the dreaded EGR problem , If it's the EGR then then it will cost a lot more to fix than new glow plugs.

Sorry, I didn’t think this post went through last night. I meant to add 2016 2.0 TDi 150 bhp estate.

The car starts no problem and engine sounds fine. A week prior to this the regen light appeared if that makes any difference. I haven’t been able to take it on a long run but did yesterday evening after it went into limp mode. Made no difference. Still getting the regen warning and the flashing glow plug light.
