Left exhaust louder than the right?

Featured Replies

Hi 2017 RS230.

Exhaust is completely stock. My left side muffler has a bit of a burble whereas the right hand side is completely silent. Is this normal or has some kind of baffle collapsed on the left side?

Please see video. Thanks

Most likely condensating water collecting inside the silencer. A good run and several hard accelerations (maybe uphill too), to slosh it out the hole at the back helped when mine started to gargle.

Isn't it a fake one?

It's a 230 - so a TSI, not a diesel. Am I missing something?

My GTI shares pretty much the same 230 set up, and has two working tailpipes.

I've got a 2018 245 and mine sounds like there's water trapped In the nearside back box. . Been like it since I've had it.

They have odd sized boxes due to the offset spare wheel well. . That might affect it possibly. .
