Karoq being prepped for sale

Featured Replies

After much debate between my wife & myself we are reluctantly going to sell our 2019 Karoq Edition 1.5 DSG 4 x 4 in Moon White with opening Pano roof, powered tailgate, folding - tumbling & removable rear seats (Varioflex) & all the other Edition model features.

We are the 2nd owners of this car & it's only done 5k in the last year. Current mileage is just under 20k & the car is located in Newport Pagnell Bucks.

I will fully document the car with pics after I've sorted out some new front tyres & refurbed 3 of the wheels (minor curb rashes). I will put all the details on the Cars for sale forum section - if I can figure out how to fill in & post the form!

It's going to be a reluctant sale but it's time for us to get a smaller EV for my wife & I to use locally.

The Karoq has been great & I've fitted a few accessories to it while we've had it.

  • Gas struts for the bonnet
  • OEM Boot bumper protector
  • Boot liner
  • OEM mud flaps
  • K&N air filter. Original filter & baffle available.
  • Inner rear wheel arch mud protectors - prevents mud from getting inside the the rear door cills. Not that it's been off-road.
  • Front & back door cill protectors.
  • Two new tyres last year & two new fronts about to go on. Huge number of roundabouts where we live take their toll on front tyres.
  • MOT just done this last week.
  • RaceChip XLR pedal box fitted to improve throttle response. I may remove this & fit it on my Superb.

Bodywork is unmarked & it's been serviced at the local Skoda dealer. As for the price I'm thinking around £23k.

PM me if anyone is interested or wants to know more details.

Full details will be posted on the Cars 4 sale section in due course after I get the wheels & tyres sorted.

Well our Karoq has now been sold. In the end we traded it in for a 22 plate Hyundai Kona Electric. Our first ever electric car which should reduce our running / fuel costs - at least on one car. The plan is to only use the Kona for local-ish trips & within the range of it's 64kWh battery which is around 300 miles! More than enough to get us pretty much anywhere we or my wife need to go & return within a single day without having to recharge.

The plan is to only ever charge the car from home on off peak lekky overnight or solar during the summer. My Superb will be used for longer trips, holidays, hauling larger stuff & the odd blast to satisfy my inner petrol head.

Sad to see the Karoq go. Great car with fab spec but it was time for us to switch to electric.

I'll be signing out of this Karoq forum shortly but I'll still participate in the Superb III. 👋

My wife has the Kona EV 6A kWh and it's excellent. A very good choice and with a 5 year warranty a comfort to know they have faith in the underlying fundamentals.

If you have solar panels it's a no brainer choice.

Enjoy....

Yes. We thought long & hard about what EV to get. I never buy new cars so it had to be a used EV funded by the proceeds from the sale of the Karoq + a small amount of savings. I found a dealer who specialises in ex-mobility Kona's & went for a facelifted 22 plate Kona Ultimate with only 2,300 miles on it for a good price which I will pick up on Saturday.

I know EV's are supposed to be pretty quick off the line but I was genuinely surprised how fast the little Kona was - especially in Sport mode. My wife will use it in Eco+ mode all the time but it's nice to now it can shift if needed. We'll just have to watch those front tyres, especially in the wet!!

Our solar panels got installed earlier this year & I've been watching how much excess solar has been going back to the grid after the battery & hot water have all been topped up. Now it can go into the car - at least during the summer months.
