Hi all, 

 

I'm looking to buy my first Skoda! The one I've got my eye on is a Superb Estate 2.0T TSI 4x4.

 

Are there any things I need to keep an eye on when checking the cars? I know the EA888 engine is prone to coking up which shows itself as some hesitation. 

 

Any issues with cars with mileage around 80k?

Where did you get this coking up from? 

 

Condition condition Condition, & service history of stuff actually done and not just a FMDSH if it is just Oil & Filter changes and not the scheduled stuff.

 

If Parks Skoda Hamilton had anything to do with the Servicing then you really want to see what was done.

 

The Haldex (4x4 system)  services are due at 3 years / 30,000 miles or sooner,  & need more than just an oil change.

I think this is the issue of direct injection EA888 engines getting carbon build-up on inlet valves, @toot.

I think some of the Superbs have both direct and indirect fuel injection.

If @Choripis really concerned, he could choose one with both injection types, but I dare say there's a trade-off to be had in that regard.
