Torque settings Felicia pick up 1600

Recommended Posts

As I've said thanks for all the help and info ,can someone please explain why the torque settings are 60 nm plus 90 degree turn rather than just say 65 nm or equivalent to 60 nm plus 90 degree turn?? It's puzzling me. I'm sure there will be a good reason for it but can't think what 🤔 cheers Eager.

When you do up a bolt, most of the turning force is overcoming friction, rather than directly tensioning the fastener. Angle tightening, on the other hand, gives a known amount of extra extension (and so tension) almost irrespective of how much friction there is.

So a combination of a low torque setting and an additional angle gives a much more accurate tension in the fastener than just a bigger torque value.
