Map Updates

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have been trying to update the maps on my sat nav following various guides but after downloading the files from skoda portal and extracting the files they are not going to mib1/mib2 and a text document like in the guides but are turning out like the below screenshot and are then not recognised when I copy them over and put SD card in the car to update. Any help would be much appreciated

That image looks like you have not extracted the files

I have tried using 7zip and the windows file extractor and that's all I end up with 🤦

Might be an idea to get some images of what you have (system details)

You can also check the firmware of the system by holding your Menu/Setup button for 10 seconds, look for something called "Software Train"

It's an amundsen nav in a 2018 octavia vrs

Well skip the Skoda portal, and go directly to this thread for Amundsen

Or directly to a map for GB

Has to be loaded onto a Skoda/SEAT or VW branded Map card

# ECE 1 2024        6.9 Gb

DiscoverMedia2_EU1_2110_V18.7z

There is a firmware update to 0480 version (totally optional)

The above 7z file will extract to the SD Card with a single folder called "Maps"

X:\Maps

Then inside this...
X:\Maps\00
X:\Maps\EEC

and so on...

That folder called

D:\DiscoverMedia2_EU1_2110_V18 should not exist

I suspect you have the next folder as
D:\DiscoverMedia2_EU1_2110_V18\Maps

You need to move the folder MAPS to the root of the D: drive
So that it becomes 2 visible folders
D:\DiscoverMedia2_EU1_2110_V18
and
D:\Maps

When you have it looking like that, you then can delete the folder
D:\DiscoverMedia2_EU1_2110_V18
It should be empty if you moved the Maps folder

Also to remind you that the SD Card has to be a Skoda/SEAT or VW card as they have a CID (Card ID) that must match to allow maps to be read

Yes it's a skoda sd card. Does that file look correct for the firmware update?

Good it's a Skoda card.

Firmware, same issue.

That folder MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0480T shouldn't exist, so enter it, and select all the files and folders, and move down to the "root" of the SD Card
