Fitting netbase 322GW

Featured Replies

Hi All

Need to fit the netbase dashcam 322GW that I removed from my citigo as don't like driving with out dash cam fitted these days

I ran the cable last time round screen , round passenger  front side to cigarette lighter and was planning dong the same for fabia

Does any one know if cigarette on a switched live power source , so I don't drain battery  when car is off ?

Thanks Steve

Hi, When i fitted my dashcam i used the nextbase kit.Just as easy to fit and wire direct into fuse box.Route the wires down the drivers side trim ,fuse box lies behind the pull out cubby hole.Mine is wired into 5amp circuit at top of fuse box.Once fitted it will not drain the battery and will switch off automatically.Cheers Andy

Many thanks just wondering if I could use the cigarette lighter switch instead of hard wiring , not sure if cigarette lighter only works with ignition on ?

Hi Just checked my car and cig lighter is constantly live.Should you use cig lighter you would have to switch  dashcam manually.Hope this helps,Cheers Andy

Steve did you hardwire the dashcam? If so I just wondered what fuse numbers you tapped into? I have got my Viofo dashcam wired to one of the cars USBC ports at the moment. Works well because it comes on and off with the ignition. But I want to get the parking mode going so I want to hardwire it with a low voltage protection module.

Hi never got round to fitting dash cam

I thought the USBC in car was always live ?

If that's not the case might connect mine to USBC

Cheers Steve

Hi,When i fitted y nextbase312 i used the nexbase fitting kit.As for wiring i used 5AMp fuse for power(top of fuse box as you look at it). and a suitable earth closeby.didn t take that long and works fine, no issues.Hope this helps.Cheers Andy☺️☺️

I wired mine to the USB C with a USBC to USB adapter. Looks neat and comes on and off with the ignition. But I am going to hardwire to the fusebox now as I want to start using the parking mode.

Hiya,

Just wondering which number fuse on the diagram it is that you used? I tried a few last night to fit my Nextbase in my new Mk4 but they all seem to be always on? Obviously don't want to risk the battery, so looking for a switched on fuse.

All advice gratefully rec'd!

Beth

HIf you look at fi,I used the 5amp fuse at top of fuse box.As you look at fuses there 2 5amp fuses at top right ,i used the left fuse (switched live).Only works when ignition is on.Are you using the nextbase fitting kit to install your dash cam, this makes it much easier. You should be able to pick up a suitable earth point nearby.Hope this helps Cheers Andy

Hi JIk,

did you get round to fitting your Viofo dashcam? if so would love to see a picture of the placement of the system on the windscreen. have been thinking about putting it on the drivers side behind the rear veiw mirror as much as possible, but not not on exact placement.

also have the same problem as you did with regard getting access to the passenger fuse box. thinking might have to go in via the trim on the dash which is covered when the drivers door opens. unless i can figure out how to take out that little box without breaking it. what fuses did you use as well?

any and all adivice is greatly apperciated.
