i have had a 2017 octavia estate for 2 years , excellent car

 

an irritation rather than a problem. the central locking opens all the doors apart from the boot which i need to use the boot button on the key fob. this has only happened over the last couple of days prior to that the central locking button did everything.

 

i find the owners manual quite confusing. any ideas please

 

 

 

Which central locking button are you talking about. The one on the fob or the one in the car?

This is use of the key fob. I'll appear dim but I didn't know about in car central locking , hence I've never used it

I'd first suggest you unlock the car with the fob and then press the central locking button in the car and see if that unlocks the boot. If it does I have a further suggestion.

The button is in the row of buttons by the gear lever

This will be a failed boot handle, nothing to do with the central locking.

the external button micro switch has failed so that is why you need to use the key.
