Screw Loose About This Hoose........

Featured Replies

Well engine bay to be exact!!

Finally got round to fitting my Green Filter this evening.

As I am carefully removing the screws from the airbox my jolly neighbour decides to ask what I'm upto and scares the bejesus out of me in the process (anyone seen Mr. Deed's?. The foreign Butler who suddenly appears from nowhere behind your man).

The result...................................................................

the rear of the two screws tumbles into the abyss that is the furby engine bay:mad: :finger: :finger:

What if any problems will this potentially cause and how does one get a replacement screw??

Thanks All

I dropped my socket into the same abyss on Sunday:eek:

I was loosening my strut brace to take airbox off and.....clunk,

The W.O. was at work, so no spare car, no spare socket.....

I rang big bro. up in middle of church service:O

I took me 2 hours to dismantle everything to find it safely wedged where it would never come loose.

I should have left it and nicked another socket from work:rofl:

Bah!

Oh, to answer your question, if it's at the very rear of the engine, it may have fallen onto the undertray, or it may be lodged in a boot crevice.

Have you tried rolling back and forth going from lock to lock?

I had to take complete airbox off, remove sensor thingy from firewall, and there is a shelf type thing where the socket was sat amongst pipes and electrickery stuff.

Good luck and burnt fingers also!

lol... common problem , I dropped a screwdriver down there, took me a few layers of skin off my hand to get it back out! didn't dare drive with it "lost" as I was scared it may hit something!

Yep fingers crossed it's dropped into the undertray as this is very easy to remove and has nice deep grooves in for holding screws and screwdriver bits in :D

Chris

I was taking my wheels off to trim the bump stops and found a spanner poking out of the arch liner!! Don't even remember losing it:confused: Must of been there for months:rofl:

Even easier is having no undertray at all. Then it just goes tinkle, tinkle, tinkle, thud! (as it hits tarmac) ;)

ive done similar things lots of times, spanner in engine bay etc....

i melted a screwdriver to my rocker cover on my old car!!!

Where did you get the green filter?

I looked on their website, but didn't see one listed for the Fabia vRS.

Thanks
