Boot opened warning only on reverse camera

Featured Replies

So as i mentioned in multimedia reboot topic, there is little annoying problem for quite some time. Multiple visits to dealer, Skoda sad sw problem, multiple upgrading, never solved. I used search on entire forum, found nothing.

When i open boot and close when ignition is off sometimes i get warning for open boot when i start car and reversing. Only on reverse camera, nothing on VC. Quick solution is to open and close boot, Skoda is persisant that it is sw problem, so i tried to restart multimedia and warning is still present. Is there anyway that signal for VC and multimedia is different for this? One guy told me it is probably camera problem, or wiring to it, but all they can do is listen to Skoda for now. And Skoda introduced me to a wonderfull world of reboots😆

P. S. Translation from picture is something like rear lead open, then it is control road, that second part is always there when everything is normal.

Only on MIB screen, nothing on VC. Marked with blue. Gonna solve it in next couple of months hopefully.

Boot lid opened or something like that. Described it in first post. Same thing as when boot is actually opened, only i that case there is also warning on VC

Just a thought - This would make me suspect the boot lock mechanism, I would think part of it would have some sort of switch to operate the interior light/boot open warning etc. It might just be sticking or have some dirt in it - worth checking if you haven't already.

But then it will also show warning on VC. There is some kind of error on reverse camera so probably they gonna change it first.

So finally took my car to dealer yesterday for this and they did some kind of sw update on some kind of module and some kind of coding🙂 All done with Skoda advices. Didn't go much in details, just testing my car now, and we will see what will happen. For now no HW will be replaced.

Edit: Forgot to tell, they think problem is with communication between different modules, delay in it etc.

Great glad to hear that it sounds like it's sorted for you 🤞

Problem not solved, let's see what will skoda do next.

What a pain in the rear, literally!

Hope they sort it for you ASAP

So finally skoda factory was included in my case and answer is that this is normal. When i open lid while ignition is off it turns on the lights, multimedia etc. If i dont close it in a while, everything is going off and multimedia just remembers that lid is open. For me it was important only that nothing is going wrong, cable, button etc, when warranty expire.
