Max weight of trailer on 1.5 TSI

Featured Replies

We would like to purchase a travel trailer, but we don't know what the max allowed weight is our 2021 1.5 TSI Skoda Octavia can pull. I live in Belgium so we have some kind of certificate which mentions the max allowed weights.

There's three options: drawbar trailer, centre-axle trailer and drawbar trailer. Which one is it?

A drawbar trailer would have wheels at both front and back, not going to find these for cars, they are farm trailers and truck trailers

18.3 is standard trailer or caravan with wheels roughly in middle, showing as max 1500kg (doesn't matter if it is single axle or double axle, but wheels would be near middle, not in each corner

18.4 is unbraked trailer (usually small camping and general purpose trailers), max 670kg (loaded weight), lower as only have car brakes to stop it.

19 is the max weight on tow hitch (sometimes called nose weight), this is because trailers are slightly heavier at front than back.  But many would say 50kg is better max.
