BMW-Sauber Pit Lane Park

Featured Replies

Whilst I was at the Silverstone Grand Prix at the weekend, I visited the BMW-Sauber Pit Lane Park.

This is a live show area that BMW-Sauber have set up to recreate the atmosphere of the pit lane and make it available to the masses. There are plenty of hands on experiences (change a wheel, practice a start on a simulator, pit-lane babes, photo-opportunities, and F1 car demos on a 90m track).

The whole facility is being set-up at six of this year's Grand Prix events - they mentioned that it will take two jumbo jets to get it to Canada for the next GP.

Anyway the whole thing is very impressive, so top marks to BMW for doing it.

A few pics of my visit, and a short video (just listen to the nosie of these things as well) showing an F1 car on the track being driven by Andy Priaulx - BMW test driver and current World Touring Car Championship leader.

My first attempt at uploading a video - fingers crossed that it works.

The track in the middle, with the garages and other exhibits round the outside....
