You can use any VAT registered garage to do the work as long as they use genuine VAG parts and stamp the book.

If you need warranty work though the dealer is always more helpfull if they serviced it!

As for price ring a few local garages this can differ a lot

30k is just oil filter and oil change from memory. Plus some other rudimentary checks I should think. Check the service schedule in your handbook - should list it all out with tickboxes.
