Ignition woes

Hello all, 

I have owned my 06 plate petrol Vrs for 18 months now. 

I recently suffered with the key not turning in the ignition. 

So one new ignition barrel later it starts up again. 

However a couple of issues that have suddenly happened. The key needs to be reprogrammed because it won't lock or unlock the car with the remote. 

And now my radio wont come on with the ignition or switch off with the ignition either. 

I turns on and off if I press the power button. 

I had disconnected the battery while waiting for the new ignition barrel to arrive. 

The radio is the standard steam head unit. 

Any help would be appreciated.
