Problem with Excelerator pedal

Featured Replies

Hi

Anyone had the same problem with their Octavia estate 2013 plate. My Excelerator pedal pedal cuts in and out whilst I’m driving and I lose power for up to 10 seconds then it comes straight back. When this happens the glow plug light and and engine management light comes on. Sometimes they also flash on my dash. I’ve had the peddle changed twice and it’s still happening

any system update then I need to do ?

Stop changing parts without a proper diagnosis? It will cost you more in the long run.

What fault codes are you getting and what diagnosis has been done?

just cause you are loosing power does not mean it’s the accelerator pedal and chances it is are next to none

Check against a wiring diagram where the voltage supply to the throttle pedal comes from - and then trace the wiring back to the source.

This has all been done by the garage that I sent the car too they couldn’t find the fault

they said the next stage is replacing the ECU.

Replacing the ECU is expensive (very!) and isn't something that should be done unless and until the wiring and connectors have been 100% physically and electrically checked.

It's not unheard of for an ECU to be swapped and the problem remain, simply because the wiring check has not been thorough enough.

erWin Skoda

Check the throttle body wiring and operation.

chances are it’s that and not the pedal.
