How to oil Pipercross air filter.

Featured Replies

Hi,

Just bought a Pipercross panel filter. It came with a spray can of oil which states 'see box for instructions' but nothing on the box.

Any tips? Also, how often do you clean them?

Cheers,

Jon.

Just spray a nice even coat of oil over the surface which gets to see all the crap.

Don't now about cleaning cotton ones...

The pipercross filter is a foam one. I believe it is cleaned using warm soapy water (i.e, natural soap flakes, not harsh detergents). I'd check with pipercross first as they might have changed, but I had one on my astra 2 years ago and that was what the instructions said then.

In which case the is a cleaning fuild available, any Pipercross stockists should have it, clean filter with it and wash off with water.

They do not need cleaning anything like as often as you might think. The primary filter media on a Pipercross is the oil on the outside not the foam, so provided it is well oiled and not so caked in **** you can't see the foam any more then it's probably fine. I haven't done mine PX600 on the Westfield for years...
