Water/rain leak right rear boot on superb combi

Featured Replies

Hello all!

I have a Superb Combi III MY 2016 where I just was cleaning the boot and noticed that there is water entering at the right rear.

I wiped the water away and parked the car on a flat surface outdoor. After next rain (no driving done) there were new water in the boot, now it seamd a bit more clear where water entered.

In the attached image, there is a point marked in purple where water enters.

Is is possibly well known what causes a leak/water ingestion at this point?

Most likely coming in past the seal on the tail light.

Have you got a sunroof?

four possible places;

light seal

rear vent behind bumper

poor factory panel seal

sunroof drain

No sunroof.

My plan is to tape around the taillight and see if that helps. Busy a few weekends from now, so there might be some time before I get going

Much later

The car has been unused for long periods since last post and there has been rain. I have not noticed any new water ingress during this period. Not even moist. My best guess is that theres been water ingested from pressure washing. I will not investigate this further until next time there is water at the same spot. That might be never, since I plan to sell this vehicle.

Thanks for all responses!
