Skoda Octavia 2011 1.2L - Speed-o-meter numbers not lighting up

Featured Replies

Hello,

I just bought a beautiful Skoda Octavia 2011 1.2L. The handling is wonderful. My concern is that at night, the speed-o-meter needles are lit up, but not the numbers indicating the speed I am driving at. MOT checks passed with flying colors. Is there a button I am not seeing?

An addition question: I do not have an AUX plug or bluetooth in the car. How difficult would it be to install this? Anyone around the city of Bath to potentially help me with this? Any tips?

Thank you!

Check for a roller-type dimmer switch that may need a good workout to clean its contacts.

You can also try banging forcibly on the dash above the instrument cluster to see if there is a bad connection somewhere.

Worst case scenario would be a dry solder joint common to all the backlight LEDs inside the cluster necessitating removal and repair.

Not an unheard of fault and usually a competent DIYer can fix cheaply.
