Key fob spring.

Featured Replies

Hi - I needed to change the key fob battery but somehow dislodged the spring that holds the key in the fob.

Anybody got any ideas how to get a new mechanism?

I seem to have lost a tiny part that holds the spring in place.

See attachment.

Thanks.

Scrappies, probably. The key is common to many later VW/Seats as well. A1 German Breakers in Oldham? Germanbitz in Bolton?

Have you still got the "spring" ? if so just glue it in with something like superglue

Hi all - thanks for the replies.

I think something has actually snapped off, so I can't get the spring to lie exactly as it should.

I've got the cover on, so at least it shouldn't be too much of a problem until I change the battery again.

The fob cover may be my best long term option.

I find that these are brilliant, dirt cheap from AliExpress and they make the key very grippy and resistant to dirt, dust and splash proof

Great!
