Urgently need a wheel hub housing

Featured Replies

Hi new member here after some advice

My son has just passed his test so picked up a cheap 54 plate Fabia

The clutch went so I had to replace it last week all went well and got car back up and running

The hub nut on the passenger wheel was just spinning even though the driveshaft was fine - anyways could not remove the driveshaft from the wheel hub no matter what I tried smacking it with a sledgehammer etc it would not come out

I have searched high and low for a replacement hub and cannot find one anywhere his car has the 239mm brake discs with ABS/PAS

I have been to all the local scrappies/checked ebay/marketplace etc every hub that is available is 256mm

Ideally I need a used carrier/hub/bearing

Does anyone know where I can purchase these parts quickly?

This is the most annoying thing I think I have ever dealt with on a car

Can't tell from the pics, usually you can spot bits of the part number but that's so corroded I can't make anything out.

The part number you're looking for is 6Q0 407 255 AG

Ideally I need the whole thing if possible I currently just have a brand new drive shaft hanging in the wind...

There's one on ebay (search that part number) with a shiny-looking hub that may be a good bet. Just checked with VIN (given in listing) and it is the right one, despite two different part numbers being listed in the description. Whereabouts are you?

Just spoke to those guys on the phone and they said that hub was from a Mk2 skoda fabia and therefore will more than likely have a different size brake disc

This I know as there is a mk2 skoda fabia local to me and it has 256mm brake discs

That's why I checked with the VIN. Get them to do same if you like. It came back as the suffix AG part number for me.

The 1.2 engines got a mixture of 256mm and 239mm, with no obvious rhyme nor reason.

A visual clue that it's the right one is how close the wheel bolt holes are to the rim of the hub.

Compare the pic above from the asm listing with this one below of a suffix -AC (256mm version) wheel bearing housing/hub:

My existing mangled hub, ignore the socket stuck inside which I was whacking with a sledgehammer
