Skoda Superb, Canton and Android Auto

Featured Replies

I've recently got myself a UK 2021 Skoda Superb Sportline with the Canton Stereo and have bee lurking here since!

I've happily been using wireless Android auto since I got the car (Couple months) with no issues - When i got in the other day it wouldn't connect in Android Auto Mode - Error Displayed on the Head unit was "Pixel 6 Unable to Connect" - However the phone was displaying "Android Auto Connected, continue on your car display"

I Have restarted both the car and the Phone, I have removed the connection on Both the car and the phone - I have wiped Android Auto on the phone, including removing all previous cars, uninstalled the updates and reinstalled it.  That didn't sort the issue

I wiped everything and left it for over 24 hours

None of this has resolved the issue

Android Auto will work with the cable - But I'd rather just have it work as intended!!

Is there any other suggestions from here before i factory reset the infotainment (I'd rather not do that as there are 2 users and all there setup that goes with it)

The wifes Samsung Galaxy S22 still works fine with the car and android Auto

Cheers in advance

I'm not going to be any help but confirm that occasionally my galaxy fold 3 refuses to connect to my Columbus canton system on my 2021 sportline. The next time I start the car it'll be fine without me changing a thing! I've fiddled about with it to no avail and now just live with the intermittent problem.

I had that once - But a restart of both the car and phone fixed it!

Not this time - I'm gonna bite the bullet an reset the system sometime and try and fix it!

Cheers Guys

Quite often after quick restart I would say less than 1 hour I got issues with Bluetooth connection. Phone connects but no sound coming out of stereo apart from calls.

Solution I found is simple but annoying to do this every time.

I just switch from Bluetooth to WLAN and back to Bluetooth and everything comes back to life.

Have a search on the forum, I've posted loads about Android Auto.

Having been insure of the cause of faults, I am now convinced it is Android Auto causing problems, and not the car. I say this because I just had around a 4 to 6 week or so streak of zero disconnection issues, then Android Auto updated on my phone on Sunday and all times I have used the car since it is back to disconnecting and/or not detecting a connection on starting the car.

It happens with both wireless and wired use. Do not believe any of the nonsense you read about cable types, fluff in connections, blah blah, it is a software issue.

Another workaround by the way is to delete the phone from the car settings and reconnect. Normally helps if your passenger does that while driving.

Have a look at the Android Auto reviews on the Google Play Store, they're full of people with all makes of phone and all sorts of cars the world over who experience the same thing all the time.
