MK1 Octavia Laurin Klement wheels value?

Featured Replies

I have bought a L&K car with these wheels on. Do they have much value? In generally good condition with minimal lacquer peel etc.

I'm trying to decide whether to stick with these or sell them to put tyres on another set.

The OEM part number of those alloy rims appears to be 1U0601025Q 1Y2 with a specification of 6.5Jx16 ET42 5/100 57.1 as shown in the chart below which show that these alloy rims were sold specifically for the L&K model. 205/55R16 suits the car, and helps to give it a good ride. Changing to 17" will mean that comfort levels suffer as lower profile tyres won't be so good at absorbing the bumps. 205/55R16 is Europe's most popular car tyre size and for good reason.

There's also a matching 6.5Jx16 ET42 5/100 57.1 steel rim available, would could be useful as a spare wheel.

205/55R16 is an economical and comfortable tyre size. Here's one example of a good quality all-season tyre in this size.

Hard to gauge as they don't come up very often. I'd guess around £200 to the right buyer.

I'd keep them on though! What would you change them for?

The ride is still very good and not harsh at all with 17" wheels (I run 225/45/R17).

Personally I would stick with the OEM wheels, they really suit the car IMO.

That's about what I thought. I'm selling the car they are pictured on (our old elegance) but intend on keeping the wheels to go back on the 1 owner L&K we've bought. Reason for swapping in the short term is the tyres on the elegance wheels are almost new whereas the L&K ones are 10 years old!

I think they look good on 17s. But, I would personally go for the Spiders in 16s for a better ride.

Mine on 17" Spiders

I ended up swapping back to the L&K's. I've seen them go from £60-£100. And, possibly £150 for a mint set. They're not desirable at all, but suit the car well.
