P0183 Fabia ASY Engine

Featured Replies

Since the clutch was done on my 2004 SDI fabia P0183 came up. i don't know where the fuel temp sensor is but it could be a trapped wire. Also the glow plugs are not getting a feed. is this connected? any help appreciated,

Cliff

The fuel temperature sensor is usually located in the top of the fuel filter housing.

It does sound like a neanderthal mechanic has damaged the wiring loom while removing or replacing the gearbox.

Thanks for the  reply. However there is no sensor on the fuel filter which is the canister type. Even the local dealer doesn't know where the sensor is. A wiring diagram might come in handy but can't find a relevant one. Not in Haynes.

Go here: MK1 Fabia workshop manuals - SKODA Fabia - BRISKODA Click download this file, you'll then see a long list of available pdf downloads

Download the second of the two "CFD" (current flow diagrams) files. Search for the engine code within that file to find the relevant wiring

The Fuel temp sender is discussed in the file titled "Fabia Fuel Injection 1.9-47kw SDi.pdf" further down the list

Glowplugs and their wiring should be referred to in both the fuel injection and CFD documents I think.

Cheers, will have a look when I get home. I was sure this forum would help me. Thanks again

Ah, ok, I think the SDI fuel temperature sensor is mounted on the mechanical fuel pump.
