245 tyres and scraping?

Featured Replies

Has anyone who has fitted 245/45 R18 tyres to the standard Skoda 8.0J rims had any issues with the tyre scraping on bodywork or suspension/steering components?  Our roads here are quite uneven and the suspension can sometimes bottom out on bumps.  The 245 tyres are a cheaper option for me so I'd like to try them provided that they are issue-free in terms of fit.  My car has standard suspension (no DCC and not Sportline)

I'm using 245/45/18 whilst lowered on coilovers and can confirm there is no scrapping, even with a full load.  So if you are standard suspension then you shouldn't have no issues at all.

Perfect - thanks!

I forgot to mentioned that I'm also using a 10mm spacer!

I've got 245/40/19 tyres on the factory 19x8 rims.

Car is also lowered and on 10mm spacers at the rear & 12mm at the front.

No scrapping or scrubbing issues.
