I've been given a build date...what next?

I placed my order back in April (23) for the 1.5 TSI E-Tec Se L Estate DSG in Graphite Grey with a fairly bog standard spec fully aware that delivery could be anywhere in the next 12-18 months. I was  somewhat surprised to receive an email from the dealer today that the scheduled build date is this week with a possible delivery date towards the end of October.

 

Is this likely or is he being optimistic ?  I'd be interested to hear from others who have had a build date that actually goes ahead on schedule.
