Digital Speedometer on Skoda Rapid 2017

Hey guys. I've been scouring the internet trying to find the answer to the following question: how do I display my current speed (kmph) on the dashboard in my Skoda (SKODA Rapid ACTIVE 1.4 TDI 90HP 4DR)? It's currently showing the temperature reading where I'd expect the speed to display.

 

I've tried changing it via the infotainment panel but there is no option within there. There are also no buttons on either stalk or on the steering wheel in this car. There is one button on the dash that you can press to reset the distance travelled or hold to change date / time and get into a service menu (also no mention of speed display in here).

 

Does anyone have any clue? Funnily enough, I've noticed when I start the car sometimes I can see "kmph" displayed in the centre of the dash before it fully boots up. This would suggest that it's possible to display it..

Mine doesn't have either the A or B buttons shown in that image.

I'm not familiar with Rapid spec but there are two likely scenarios:

- it's a base spec model without a multifunction display fitted so there are no buttons to control it

- the stalks or steering wheel have been incorrectly replaced by a previous owner for buttonless versions

 

I assume your display matches that on the right:

 

You might be able to replace the stalks with the button variety but it'll likely need coding and possibly a new steering wheel controller.

on the steering wheel the right side there is a symbol, a square with an arrow on it opposite side has the speech option, click this button once then scroll to driving data then click again to enter then just scroll through the options to get the one you want, the list contains all driving data and i think yours is on oil temperature just scroll to the mph one. done, once you get the hang of it you can control all the cars functions from this menu

The OP stated they have no buttons on their wheel so that might prove hard 😉

The Rapids with the display on the right in the screenshot do have the buttons on the stalks to switch display modes. Was cruise control retrofitted in your Rapid?

 

Anyways, you can try disabling all display except for speed in the infotainment, perhaps it will switch over to it.
