Hello,

I am Norman and I bought an LHD Octavia Confort 2 weeks ago in France.

Please can anyone tell me if the Stream radio head can be slid out of its position without disconnecting it and needing the code to get it going again? (Is it on flying leads or does it plug into the back of the dash?) I was not given a code in the manual so I presume I have the

The radio wil be fine if disconected, it will recode itself back in when you turn the ignition on.

Hello' date='[/color']

I am Norman and I bought an LHD Octavia Confort 2 weeks ago in France.

Please can anyone tell me if the Stream radio head can be slid out of its position without disconnecting it and needing the code to get it going again? (Is it on flying leads or does it plug into the back of the dash?) I was not given a code in the manual so I presume I have the “comfort coding system” which “does not require a code” So what does that mean? If I remove the head in order to try to connect an auxiliary input, or disconnect the battery, will I be able to get the radio going again and if so how?

The speedo is calibrated in km. Is there any way of making the maxidot display show instantaneous MPH for when I go to UK? ( I have made it show MPG and noted that the trip etc is then showing miles and that the maximum speed warning can be set in MPH but that is not quite what is needed

Welcome to Briskoda Norman.

There is no aux input on the rear of the Stream. Only cars built after week 22 with jumbo box have it although i imagine Skoda should soon have a retrofit kit for post week 22 cars without the jumbo box. I have disconnected my autochanger and use an adapter to provide an aux connection via the changer input.

There is no way to get the the maxidot to display instantaneous mph however if you have dual climate control you can switch the lcd displays on it over to diagnosic mode and display the above info (Section 19.1)

Thank you Johhny.

I apologise for my inexperienced use of the forums.

I have been in france since 1996. I bought the Octavia 2 in May 2006.

Having taken the radio out of its seating I saw a label showing pin cponnections for a connector which did not have a mating connector installed. This seems to indicate that there are input pins, unused at the moment, within this socket position. I think I may just try connecting an audio signal and see if I can hear something. The problem may be selecting these inputs if the menu won't help.

Regards,

Norman
