Sat Nav Going Walk About

Featured Replies

Not for the first time, when on a journey using onboard satnav, for no reason, the navigation goes haywire. Can’t understand why? I have found if I use CarPlay and google maps, the same thing can happen. Also, and might be connected, my radio stations sometimes jump?

Any other Kamiq driver’s experiencing the same issues?

To me this sounds like sone kind of interference, so I'm wondering if its the location you happen to be in at the time rather than related to the Kamiq?

My VW (still waiting for my Kamiq to arrive) has drop outs sometimes where the DAB radio transmission stops, Phone signal goes but as these locations are are all local to me I have no idea whether they affect the Sat Nav too.

Have you been able to rule that out?

Have used locally to destinations I don’t need satnav and ok but nothing worse when on a longer unknown route the system fails and, doesn’t re-route. Radio stations have jumped when driving locally but not on long journeys and not sure why?

Noticing your car is 2020.   I know nothing about the Kamiq systems but when sat nav goes walkabout on the MY20 Kodiaqs with MIB3, it usually means the system requires a software upgrade. Skoda are aware of the problem. Has any patch been applied to your car?  Best contacting them.

In the process of contacting Skoda and my infotainment is stuck on ‘loading user profile’. One thing after another!☹️

Try a hard reset by pressing the on/off icon on the screen housing for 2-3 seconds.

Thanks but I have tried this twice with no success.

Thanks all for your help.
I have been in contact with Skoda who have suggested trying a factory reset before informing their technical department. Following the factory reset, I haven’t experienced any sat nav issues although my journeys have been local and I haven’t suffered any radio station jumps. Skoda have my infotainment system and phone system details if they are required but so far, so good.🤞
