Does towing electrics disable boot button?

Featured Replies

Hi

Does anyone know if the car (with proper coding etc) disables the cabin tailgate open button when the trailer light socket is connected?  Or is there still the risk of someone accidentally activating it if say a bike rack were on the tow bar and the two meeting?  Thanks

I'm pretty sure it does exactly that. I'm not sure if I've tried the cabin button but if you hold down the boot open button on the key fob the tailgate 'pops' but doesn't open. I thought it was broken first time but it was saving me from myself. I'd imagine cabin button is the same but I'd wait for formal confirmation before trying it!

my understanding is that the PDC sensors r disabled when the trailer socket is connected.

i don't know if it disables the interior boot open button.

would make sense that it does disable it, but u never know.

I have the factory fitted towbar and yes it does disable the boot opening when the socket is connected.

It clicks the tailgate ajar but it does not open.
