2.5" V 3" Down Pipe

Featured Replies

Right sorry if this has been brought up before but i couldnt really find anything last night by searching.

Is the 2.5" Milltek down pipe & sports cat really worth the extra

How does a 3'' dp butt upto the exhaust manifold...must be an adapter of some sort?

I had a Milltek 2.5'' dp/cat...worked well...noticeably more torque and a meatier exhaust/engine note.

I don't think the standard turbo will have enough puff to push the gases down a 3'' dp.....of course this may not necessarily by true.;)

yea you have the same thinking as me :D

as just being a monkey and reading what it says under the exhaust section on the awesome gti site

I have a full Blueflame exchaust system with 2.5" down pipe, 200cel sports cat and back box - I would highly recommend it. The engine has a noticable amount more torque in the mid range and accelerating at anything above 3000rpm produces a very nice growl :D

I'd always thought that the 3" down pipe was for big turbo conversions and the 2.5" was better suited to the K03s in the Octy

Does the 3''dp actually come with a cat.....generally they don't....would explain the cost difference.
