4x4: does Haldex clutch work in reverse?

Featured Replies

Finally picked up my 4x4 hatch today from the very helpful people at Bickerton Skoda in Sheffield.

Very pleased with it, especially the bootlid lip spoiler which I wasn't expecting. Treated myself to front mudflaps as well.

Question occurred to me as I reversed on to my drive (which slopes up from the road) does the Haldex still feed power to the rear in reverse?

Can't see why it shouldn't, just wondering, especially as I nearly bent my Golf trying to reverse up in the snow and ice last year!!!

Cheers

Tim

PS Wife very impressed with size of it (the boot of course!!).

Tim, full function is available in reverse. See here and click on Technical Information for further information. Reverse gets a mention in the para about Enhanced Vehicle Traction.

Cool, thanks Denis, no more zig-zagging up the drive this winter then!

Tim, congratulations on your acquisition from a fellow 4x4 hatch owner. We're certainly a niche market! :D

Yes, the bootlid mini spoiler was a surprise for me too! And very understated it is... ;)

If I'd known of the existance of the 4x4 hatch I would have been tempted myself. I also prefer the mini spoiler to the one on the back of the RS. Don't tell Denis.

Don't tell Denis.

What about a 4x4 wunderwagen Rich ? You can reverse it without the need for parking sensors ;)

I manage with the reversing thank you very much. The man with the red flag lives in the boot.

They're standard on a 4x4 hatch, so...

You can tell me, Rich. I can keep a secret. ;)

...I'd better move to Holland as they aren't in the UK :nono:

A certain person I could name also has a proper leather wheel and seats Mattijs ;)

But those aren't standard here either... :D
