4x4 Rear Anti Roll Bar.

Featured Replies

Can somebody please let me know what happened to this one.

I seam to remember this was on some time ago?

I was in half a mind then, but after my run back from Le Mans I know now I NEED ONE !!!!

Jabba are having difficulty in getting these manufactured.

The company that has done Stuart's are reluctant to do anymore because of the bending required.

I spoke to Nick last week and he was going to have another chase....I'll buzz him tomorrow to find out what's happening.

Thanks Adrian.

buy a golf R32 one and get a body shop to modify your spare wheel well and replace the tyre with a can of tyre foam

cheaper, lighter and quicker.

How much does it cost to have a body shop modify your wheel well?

Bengie  Your having a giraffe !!!! I'm sure a body job would not be quicker than fitting an ARB! ;)

Adrian, any joy with the call to Nick?

getting a body shop to modify the wheel well and get an R32 ARB fitted would be quicker than waiting for jabba to deliver the goods on this. its been months since they were 'ringing me back an a couple of weeks' so tbh i can't be bothered to wait for them any longer.

Bengie

I'm 'gunna' have to jog their memory myself, I don't want to let the "Cut & Shut" brigade loose in the boot!

Was there no one else who stocks/makes them?

no one makes them as standard as they are non standard. the R32 and TT ones both foul the underside of the car.

Bengie;

Just like you said mate.

I emailed Jabba 2 days ago, guess what, FA & not even sweet!

They're moving towards the No-Go-Zone with recomendations. :thumbdwn:

Still not doing the "cut & shut" job!

"There must be some kinda way outer here" ,,,, J. Hendrix. RIP

Judging by the views there's probably quite a few potential customers for Jabba - probably a few who would buy more than an ARB.

Does anyone know an engineering firm that might do it or another performance parts firm that fancies it?

Just fit the R32 one, the mods required to the spare wheel well are minimal. The spare wheel still fits in no problem and the modification takes about a minute.

sounds like my kind of modification

A rounded head of a ball peen hammer like the one pictured below does the job in under a minute.

The extra clearance needed is minimal.

That's all I needed to know!

Strange...I think I'll miss the skiing like sensation....

Saw a Seat forum driver moaning that his car was no longer comfortable?

It doesn't ruin the comfort does it?

Here's what I cobbled together;

Get droplinks and larger bushes at the same time and some spare nuts and bolts.

Drop front subframe for front ARB. Disconnect steering/loosen rack and dog bone mount.

Note that yr alignment may change.

Rear ARB: 1J0511409K - 19mm

Front ARB 1J0411305AF - 23mm

Bushes: 4B0511327 x 2

Bush brackets: 8A0511439 x2

Drop links: 1J0505466B x ?

Hmm not sure what it all means 'though....

thats for the front mate, we're on about the back ;)

See - that's what you get when you're out of your depth!

It was 'cos I'm going to get both, hopefully.

For the rear it just needs bushes and Eddy's 'fix'...maybe the exhaust has to come off?

The rear ARB is the first thing on his list, or am I missing something?

No need to remove the exhaust.

Eddy, I was "missing something".

The last 3 posts have just surfaced!

after seeing the tiny amount of metal that has to be altered on Eddy's car at the weekend I will be doing the same I think. Pity as I would probably have bought an off the shelf item if it wasnt silly expensive! (and available!!)
